these are just some images of organs I got of google of organs, and then I hve drawn to ways of which I could pssibly draw the scent organ. I like the bottom one done in biro more than the one on top.
Here i have drawn some heliopters by using ink in different ways to see what effects I can get. The top one is done by drawing the helicopter with crayon and brushing blue ink over the top, tthis effect works good but is not the kind Im looking for for this image. the bottom image I like as you can see the helicopter with more detail and I think the splashing of ink off the perpelas shows the spinning movement of them.

Picturing Time Project

So this is my final imasge for this brief, I enjoyed making this image even though it seemed to take a long time to do. First thing is that I used watercolour paper that I had streched the previous day as my tutor showed us how to do this. I used black ink and my dipping pen to create the image, which i found is very enjoyable and relaxing to use but very time consuming. overall I think I spent 3 days doing this image and I am still uncertain wether or not it is complete. I may still add to it and place it in photoshop and give a go at adding colour to it to see what I get.
During our first year we used photocopies of a book with different pieces of a sewing machine in. so for this image i went back to that book and decided to do something different by creating a cuckoo clock from pieces from that book. overall i like this effect and think it works well for the project brief, as it looks like pieces of the clogs and machanics of the clock are used to create it. i enjoyed using this process and will be using it again.
This is another image I did but thought that by adding the world as the pendent at the bottom of the cuckoo clock was to much. But I still kept to the simple drawing as the previuse piece.

This image was one of my original ideas for this project. I thought of it whilst doodleing. I think it is to editorial for this project brief as it does look like an image you would find in a magazine that is trying to catch someones attention. I do like the simpleness of the image though, the black outline and the limited palette of three colurs.

Thinking process ti get my brain around the topic of time :)

Poster for London underground - Uni brief

so here is some research I have done for the project. these images are all posters used in the underground, as you can see they are all pretty simple. this is have found as people are moving fast in the underground so posters have to be eye catching and easy to take in on first glance. im planning to keep my work like these poster as if i have an over complicated idea it wont work as a poster. as the underground is a fast moving place so the posters have to be in your face, simple.

this is one of my first posters I did, its very simple, ive used colour paper to cut out  the images and have just used a felt pen to do the writing. I like it but Im not to sure about it.

one of the first, i dont like it as it looks like a small child has done it , might look better if i develop it.

the one before last, with this one I have try to keep the lettering simple by using stencils and just using the colour black makes the poster easy to read. Also by having the images of the stuff people forget or lose whilst on the underground it makes it eye catching. it still needs are few adjustments.

this is my final poster, its like the one above except it is on a black background and the images and lettering are in red. i like this one as it is what the brief wants and is very eye catching as its red, easy to read and gives all the info. by keeping it simple i have made it easier to come up with ideas that work well.

Drawings that I have done whilst volunteering with the Coastal Hawks.

COLLECTION - stuff people keep for some reason or other. We where told as a project for college to collect  something, anything. So I collected feathers, as I have grown up with pet birds and have always been attracted to feathers. the COLOURS, PATTERNS, the way birds use feathers to FLY.

At the start of the project I did not know what I was going to do so I some drawings of the feathers in promaker and biro.
I started to look at artist who use feathers in there work to help me gain some influence for my work

Andrew Hutchinson - Nature Illustrator

These 3 pictures are Mary Fedden's work, which I find are quite odd but I like them as the are simple and well constructed.

These three images are sculptures which have been crafted out of feathers by Kate MccGwire. I love these pieces as she has contrasted the way feathers are seen as light and flying to heavy and flowing like water also solid and compact. I enjoy this work. And would like to start looking at making 3D things.

PRINTING FEATHERS - by inking up some feathers I have printed many images which I have to say have came out great as you get movement and the colours are amazing.

As I was creating these I realised that you could see creatures in the shapes such as birds, butterflies, and much more so I photocopied and enlarged many of them so I could play around with them to see what I could create.
We where told at the start of the project to make a zine, as Had many photocopies left over I decided to make a few zines to see the different ways I can get the images to collide with each other. Here are a few pages out of different zines I have made:

After being inspired by Kate MccGwire and the creatures which I found in the prints I decided to make some creatures out of stuff that I had laying around but to keep with my collection of feathers, all the creatures would have feathers for one reason or another.

I will carry on making more creatures as I have found making them extremely fun and would like to be able to use them in my work as characters for something or whatever.
